A day exploring the city of Évora, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a mosaic of culture, history, and traditions. We depart from Lisbon, crossing the bridge over the Tagus River. Through a bucolic landscape of cork oaks, olive trees, and vineyards, we glimpse the city walls and whitewashed houses. We'll stroll through the city's narrow streets, traveling back in time, visiting some of its main monuments: the Roman Temple of Évora, the Roman-Gothic Cathedral, the Church of Saint Francis with the Chapel of Bones, and the University. The visit will also allow us to enjoy the full variety of handicrafts that the Alentejo region offers, appreciating, among others, the famous cork, ceramic, and copper objects. You'll also have the opportunity to see and feel the richness and diversity of the products used in the preparation of one of Portugal's most delicious cuisines. Time for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the city better. We suggest a gourmet wine, olive oil, and cheese tasting. Évora — accommodation
Breakfast at the hotel. Some free time in the morning, after which, amidst relaxing scenery, we set off for Beja, where the most imposing medieval castle tower in Portugal dominates the city and the region. We cross the small mountains until we reach the Algarve, where, amidst orange groves, we find Silves, dominated by the Moorish Castle and the memory of the ancient cork industry. Then, passing Praia da Rocha, we arrive in Lagos, where we will find the sea. Lagos — accommodation.
Breakfast at the hotel. We stop at Ponta da Piedade to admire the fantastic rock formations created by the erosion of the sea and time. Then, we'll head to Sagres, the site of the legendary nautical school of Prince Henry the Navigator, who opened the worlds to the world. At Cape St. Vincent, the southwesternmost point of Europe, we'll be dazzled by the majestic cliffs. Arrival in Lagos, a cosmopolitan Algarve city with a marina and fishing port, and a prime location to savor delicious cuisine rich in fish, seafood, and almond sweets. The rest of the afternoon is free. Lagos — overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. After a final look at the sea to say goodbye to the Algarve, we set off back, stopping in the city of Setúbal. This port and industrial city is located on the left bank of the mouth of the Sado River, overlooking the beautiful Troia Peninsula. We then cross the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, with its rare vegetation and unique panoramas. Crossing one of the bridges over the Tagus River, we return to Lisbon. End of our services.
